Ada Jenkins Center

The Ada Jenkins Center knows that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to helping families in crisis.  When families in need come through their red doors, they find compassionate care, a network of solutions and services, and no pre-conceived ideas of how to help them address both their short- and long-term needs.  When their $3 million campaign faced a crisis – losing its campaign chair – Capstone had to help them figure out how to apply their multi-pronged approach to client service to their own situation.

No good decision ever is made out of panic and our consulting team knew we could not afford to make a bad decision.  We also knew that we couldn’t put everything on hold while we tried to identify a new leader.  We had to resist the temptation to rush into enlisting a new chair.  We needed to create a structure and strategy that would make the job feel more manageable and positioned for success.  We needed more than a Plan B.

Just like Ada does with its client partners, Capstone worked with them to solve both their immediate and longer-term needs.  The first order of business was to keep other elements of the campaign moving forward.  The Staff and Board Divisions continued.  A campaign brochure was developed.  The prospect list was created.  We also restructured the campaign to better leverage local relationships and developed a short list of potential campaign leaders.  Most importantly, the Executive Director had lots of conversations with trusted stakeholders to make sure that our plans were not merely a knee-jerk reaction to our current situation, but rather were consistent with our goals.

No campaign goes exactly as planned, which is why we try to be our best when things feel like they are at their worst.  One-part problem solver and one-part therapist, the Capstone consulting team kept the Ada campaign moving forward while identifying a campaign chair who will help make our efforts stronger in the long run.
